fancy footwork. You have to practice a bit since you can’t heal toe with the bottom hinged accelerator but a quick blip of the throttle on a downshift is easy enough to achieve. You’re just not hitting it on hard braking though.

In order to do what I think what you're asking, ... pardon me if this is oversimplifying and I missed your point,

    say you're at 5k rpm's in 4th, you would
depress the clutch - hit the accelerator to increase revs to where you think it will be in 3rd (~7k maybe) - then put it in 3rd and adjust the gas as you release the clutch to match engine revs, quickly and with fluidity.

This would give you a pretty exciting and raucous downshift.

It is particularly nice if you do this as you going under an overpass, or bridge or in a tunnel where the sound reverberates.

I can do the first, second is what I believe I'm talking about, and I don't have the guts to do the third :)

Yes, I believe this is what I'm asking for. Do I blip the accelerator to hit the 7k mark and then let it go while I shift to third, or are you saying I hold it at 7k, shift to third, then slowly release the gas? Clutch is depressed the whole time until...

I'm guessing there are videos that show this pretty clearly too.

You're over thinking it. Just blip the throttle before you let the clutch out in the lower gear. With practice you'll know how high to get it to rev to match the new gear.

You don't have to start with as much as of a rev differential as I indicated. You dont want to get scared off. Take it as you're comfortable, but know the car can handle it.

4th downshifting to 3rd is probably going to be the easiest to experiment with to get some exciting shifting at reasonable speeds. 3rd down to 2nd can be a bit trickier and 5th down to 4th you're going to prob be moving at a pretty good clip.

So whatever revs you're in in 4th, if you bring it down to 3rd, the engine is gonna wind up as it has to work harder in the lower gear to keep up.

So when you downshift, bring the engine speed up just prior to putting it in 3rd, as it goes into 3rd, you'll then be able to back off the throttle to stay at that performance level, or increase if you want to really rock it.

    The rest is just practice.

    Hope this helps

I remember when I stepped up from my sporty Integra to my RX7 3rd gen beast. Took some getting used to, and practice to figure out how to bring out the most of it, I feel where you're at.

Interesting thread to follow, i wonder if anyone here has converted their 430 scuderia to manual that can share their experience and if any remorse, and the 430 Scuderia transmission in stock form shifts faster than F430, when manual swap i assume that will be lost?

There is one person here but the name escapes me. I don't think there was any remorse and quite frankly, there shouldn't be. The kit is easily uninstalled if there is a will to be original again.

that is awesome, is this your car in the clip? My local to me shop in Vancouver is doing a manual swap on a F430 soon, hopefully I can test it out and see how it transforms the car.
