I've got a 2004 360 spider with 6K miles. I've been having issues with the convertible top.

First there is a cable that runs through the back of the convertible top that is broken. Top folds fine, but one of the rear buttress sections is loose when the top is up. Also, one of the winglet flaps just broke. It's a hard plastic piece, on each side, that closes after the top is stowed. A piece of one physically broke off which causes both flaps not to function.

I'd like to know if anyone has had any of these issues, how it was repaired, and/or advice on how to avoid it happening again.

Do you mean that the two canvas halves that come come together behind each seat are not as tight on one side of the car? Can you post a picture of this?

Here's a picture of the loose buttress. I don't have a picture of the broken winglet. But in Technician F's diagram it would be the part labeled number "2". The Ferrari mechanics discovered this. I can't imagine how this thing broke. Sounds like it's at the point where the bolt goes through that "dog leg" slot and screws into the sleeve of the winglet. It's the sleeve part that broke. Btw, that winglet isn't cheap. It's gonna cost $1,100 just for the part not too mention it needs to be painted.

Before you buy a body panel part new check with Specialized Italian recycling. I bet they could sell you that flap for a fraction of the cost of a new part from a dealership.
