    Hi,

My 1983 Mondial Cabriolet needs a new convertible top and I was hoping that someone could suggest a good source in the DC/MD/VA area.

    Thanks

Not sure what your budget is for installing a new convertible top.

Looks like you can buy a new cloth top for around $4k to $5k.
Here's a link to the one for a Mondial QV from Ricambi America:
Ferrari Mondial QV Parts : Table 125 - TOP - CABRIOLET

I suspect someone like Competizione in MD can do the labor to fit it for you.
I'd check with them and see if they have a better priced source for the cloth top and how much additional the labor will be to install it.

Brandon, do yourself a favor and have a shop that replaces convertible tops do the replacement. Convertible tops can be difficult to install, align and make operational without incident to the top material. I use a local shop that has performed installations for me for the last 7 years. Call Fred Cooney at Automotive Custom Care at 410-833-4840.

    Brandon,

Welcome to FChat and Ferrari ownership. I'm afraid, I cannot be of much help here, except to confirm that you should follow Richard's ("8339") advice and give his contact a call.

Please let us know your experience with whoever you decide to go with as we have several other Mondial owners in the Mid-Atlantic region (including me) and I'm sure we'd like to know how good these shops are.

To change the subject a little, I own an '86 Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet and I would like to personally invite you to the Fairlakes Cars and Coffee which is held every Sunday in Fairlakes, VA. The address is:

    Starbucks @ Fairlakes Circle
    12599 Fair Lakes Circle
    Fairfax, VA 22033
Time: 8:30 AM - 10 AM (or there abouts)

It's located near the Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods stores. There's PLENTY of parking!!
Let me know if you decide to go so I can be sure to be there to meet you.

    Bill P.

Hi: I use Lims Upholstery on Tyco Road in Vienna Virginia for all my convertable top and leather work on my cars. John Yoon is the manager and his prices are very fair and his quality is excellent. They have also opened up a second shop in Chantilly in buildings located behind Moore Cadillac.
