What is the easiest and safest way of converting a early TR center style wheel/rim to a later 5 nut wheel/rim?

    No really easy way....
    1. Change all suspension pieces over to model year 1988.5 or later.
    2. I've heard that some company made adaptors for singl-lug to 5-lug - but I've never actually seen a set.
    3. A fellow fchatter did some machining of the hubs to allow 5-bolt wheels to mount up - search "testaroaster"...

As for the stock TR wheels...the early single-lug wheels look much better than the later 5-lug ones in my opinion. No reason to change unless your looking to upgrade to bigger wheels and tires. But there are some very nice looking aftermarket wheels available for the single-lug wheels to use 17" or 18" diameters.
