    interesting read. it's funny, when i hear people talking about housing slowing down - that ain't the case inside the loop in the "good" areas. you can hardly buy a tear down in the cheaper parts of 77019 and 77005 for under $300-350k, and that isn't even a big lot, anything cheaper is near the tracks or a busy street. new construction townhomes around 3000sq. ft are in the $400's and $500's - for a TOWNHOME!!!! it's crazy. there are some townhomes near TC (HOU)'s place that went for close to $600k, i believe they were only 3500-3700 sq ft.

    in general, real estate around houston is pretty cheap, but like most cities, we definitely have our "prized" locations.

    I live in he 77098 area code and our house was valued at $400,000 and its only 2700sq.ft.

    Heh, it's across the street from Parvizian's old rug store, right? I don't like them because they always ***** at me when I park there after hours!!!
