My wife and I are planing an trip to Denver Sept 9-12 and are looking for cool places to see. We plan an going to Ferrari of Denver, Shelby American Museum and a few Breweries.

Might try to go to the Wheels and Wings car show in Vail. Also saw the Colorado Grand starts on the 12th, maybe some of the cars will be around the weekend before?

What other can't miss spots or cool car places?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I'd definitely go to the Shelby Museum...you can see a Ferrari dealer almost anywhere :)

True, but there are none anywhere near where I live. Amarillo is not a hot spot for exotics.

When you're at Shelby you'll be in Boulder so you should check out the Walnut Brewery.

    MSJ,
The first day of driving for the Colorado Grand is Tuesday the 13th. Virtually all of the cars will be in the parking structure at the Cascade resort in Vail on the 12th. That is the day to be there if you can. There is often a bit of testing and tuning going on that day to get the cars ready for altitude. The cars will also be displayed at the end of the event on Saturday the 17th in Lionshead (Vail) in the morning. To celebrate the 50th birthday of the GTO the rules were stretched a bit this year and GTOs were invited. I believe that four are registered to take part.

I was going to second the Colorado Grand but Ron did a much better job of it. It's a little bit of a trek up to Vail from Denver but you would have the opportunity to view Pebble Beach quality cars. Truly like being in a museum.

As an aside, Ron, I plan on being up there Friday 16th and staying for the weekend. I hope to see/meet you and say hi to Tom H. and hopefully see a GTO in the flesh for the first time in my life.
