"Introduced at the 1972 Geneva Salon, the Ferrari 246 GTS boasted a removable top.* The lightweight, black vinyl top fitted behind the seats, whilst a cloth top was also available which fitted under the front lid." Anyone ever heard of this cloth top??? Manny
the top is often referred to as a "sebring" top. they do exist, but are very rare. this top was only designed for use when the car was parked. it couldn't be used while the car was in motion. the purp[ose of this top was for emergency purposes if you didn't have the targa top and a sudden rain hit.
Is a "Sebring" top for a Dino GTS as rare as "THE BOX" document holder mentioned on this forum. I will post a pic of my top tomorrow.
Yes, I bought one years ago. It is more for covering the car's targa top when you park. In the front it attaches with rings that fit over the vent window exterior pivot that protrudes outwards and behind the passenger area it attaches through the 3 vertical vents on the targa band.
