I went to look at a winter beater yesterday and the guys grandfather had stacks of 50s & 60s Sports Car Graphic, Road & Track, Car and Driver and SportsCars Illustrated magazines. You guys would not believe these magazines! Their are road tests, the introduction of plans for building Riverside raceway, classifieds for Ferraris, 550 spyders etc.. Great road test article on the "new" 275 GTB and many others.I go to a lot of HSR races and reading these magazines its hard to believe that when written these events and cars & drivers are the current happenings. Just fired up about getting these to read while its winter here.

That's neat, Bimota! I started buying those magazines late in 1966, when I would have been 14 years old. A few years later, I found a used magazine shop in Tacoma that had lots of earlier issues, and started buying those one or two at a time, the ones that had articles on Italian cars, mostly. Then came my big find - in the want ads in the Seattle Times, I found a collection of great old magazines that went back to 1950. That must have been about 1974, and I think I paid about $200 for it. So I ended up with complete sets of all the magazines you mentioned (had to buy reprints of Road & Track from 1947-1949), plus duplicates and triplicates on many of the 50's and 60's issues.

Those old magazines are SO much more interesting that current ones!

Im glad you guys can relate to my excitement. My wife was tired of me saying "Oh my god, look at this". I really enjoy going to HSR races and you can get into the pits. Most guys are very good about letting you drool if you wipe up when you are done!
