Concorde could not maintain mach 2 for very long because of the same heating problems that limit most aluminum airframe fighters to dashes to mach 2-2.5. Cruise speed of mach 1.7 was still twice as fast as conventional airliners, though.

Bypass is for wimps. Just add fuel. Lots and lots of fuel.

F-104A I share your enthusiasm for the type. My favorites are the early Lockheed built models or the late Italian built ones.

There are several airworthy examples in civilian hands.

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. Stick glider wings on that fuselage and you have a U2.

That F-104G/S is actually livery Baracca, but then everybody knows that story.

Airshow at Kirtland AFB yesterday and today. Outside and heard something that definitely did not sound like an airliner with Stage III. Sure enough, B-2A Spirit went overhead. As one of only 20 or so remaining, guess that qualifies as rare.

P-40s are really getting popular now since they cost (at least they did) so much less than a Mustang and are fun to fly.

Great photos. Two B-25s flying in one day, plus a B-29. Nice to see them flying.

I forget the mark. Someone has had a spitfire at a local airport for a few years now. It with two Texans flew over my house this morning. Since Canada requires spin training for a private license. The airspace over my house is designated aerobatic training. So its not unusual to see planes flying in formation and practicing aerobatics over head. Abbotsford air show, I usually see the snowbirds do a fly over my house.

I was at bass tournament Plattsburgh, NY and they had a B-47 on display. The old pro I was assigned with told me driving out that morning "there is a B-52, they still fly them", I didn't have the guts to correct him first thing in the morning. :/
