Sorry, I'm not to good at transferring links. Their recommended product is called Power Cool 180, and they recommend a flushing agent if you are converting from a water based system. Sounds like it may be the ticket for us, although quite expensive.

Read the Evans Water Coolant thread in the 308/328 section. Very Informative! If you drive your Maser once a year, Evans may be the way to go. If you drive regularly and change out the coolant annually, Zerex G-05 is the ticket IMHO.

Well I have read the information about it but I will stay with the Green Ethylene Glycol. The sixes do not run hot unless you are stopped for long periods. Water and Ethylene Glycol are readily available if you are on the road and need to add. DO not mix coolants, some of them are not compatable with the Ethylene Glycol and will gel in the engine and cause cooling problems. If you are going to change to any thing else make sure you flush and flush some more.

When ever and older aluminum engine car comes into the shop for service that requires opening the cooling system, I flush the heck out of them and refill with Porsche coolant. It's the same as the Audi/vw stuff, specifically formulated for aluminum engines and is much easier on various seals and o-rings. It lasts a very long time with far better heat transferring properties then the old green stuff. The cars seem to really like it just going by the more consistent temps they maintain, and the cooling fan cycles. You could almost set your watch by them.

I would be interested in the Porsche coolant as well, since Porsche engines are more performance oriented. The Valvoline Zerex has been specifically approved for the Mercedes aluminum engines.

I think it a positive proactive strategy to just change out the coolant annually. Just Sayin!

Not sure who actually makes the stuff, but I buy it by the case from the Porsche dealer up the street. I'll have a look at a jug on Monday. It's not cheap, but it's not really expensive either.
