For those of you that have replaced these, are the large hoses(near water pump & lines going to radiator) 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" ID? I'm looking at Gates Green Stripe hose as a viable replacement. Thanks r
It a european car and over here we do not use inches But mm. So Probably both quoted sizes will not be 100% correct Superformance had them on stock always, try there. Price is very reasonable
I just ordered 40 mm radiator hose since I will replace all the coolant system hoses in my 328 this winter as well. I ordered them at a specialist for automotive hoses having them at the regular quality at €30/meter being same as originally fitted. I considered to buy the superior quality at €80/meter but these are notable stiffer as well thus more hard to fit on the more difficult to reach locations. I will also replace the heating system and expansion reservoir hoses that I will likely buy from the same shop. Starting October I likely do a thread on this job here.
It is 40mm. US owners have generally used 1 5/8, but the correct metric stuff is available, so why not use the correct size? I wanted to try silicone hose and bought a nice 40mm x 1 meter piece on ebay.uk for a reasonable amount. If you want regular Goodyear hose go to a real auto parts supplier (not Autozone, for instance) and have them look in the book for 40mm hose and they will have a piece in stock that you can cut into pieces. Also Scuderia Ramparte has very special radiators hose pieces.
