    After a spirited run yesterday in my 246GT I noticed a wet streak all the way up my drive and a pool of water under the engine. It was coming from the overflow tube. I let it cool down and then started it up again. After a few minutes water was again coming out of the overflow tube. Any ideas?

    If you open the radiator cap, is the fluid full, up to the top? Does the temp gauge show a hot or normal temp when water is coming out of the overflow?

    If this heating problem hasn't happened before, I suspect the thermostat isn't opening and the engine isn't cooling, but boiling the water out of the block. On older US cars, it was often easy to tell as the hose from the water pump to the engine would be pressurized while the other (hose from the thermostat to the radiator) would be soft while running at temperature. This was classic that the thermostat has failed in the closed position.

    Another suggestion is to check the radiator cap. They become weak over time and can't hold the proper pressure.

    I put it on the trailer and took it to the repair shop. I'll post when I know.
