Guys Just started the 328 today to do an oil change. first time started in 5 months... I backed the car out the garage ran it for 5 minutes to get the oil warmed up, did the change started for a few minutes and put back in garage.. checking oil levels etc.. any way I noticed a small puddle of coolant that had come out of the overflow pipe from the coolant tank in the engine bay.. Ive checked the coolant level and there is plenty in. Any ideas why I would have this puddle? Thanks for any help..
+1 BUT, the expansion caps aren't the most long lived items & it may need replacing. Also have a look at the cap, it should be a 1 bar cap but many are still on old 0.9bar parts I'd run again it till it gets warm & then see what it does. Have you added any coolant in recent times? If not then the only reason it would suddenly start chucking it out would most likely be that the cap has gone bad.
You are too kind. The Italian caps are in fact junk and I never use them. This is exactly why pressure testers are made.
I'll throw in my two cents: Stant 10230 Here is the mother of all expansion tank threads: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/the-308-328-coolant-system-anatomy-of-the-expansion-tank-cap.576430/
