The coolant reservoir on my 87 testarossa has rust and is leaking. The F-dealer is quoting $1500 for the part. Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper one?

Also could try Ferrari parts for your vintage and italian sports cars they list the header for 280 Euro which is better than UK pound. Just check his shipping costs as they can be high. I have got some parts over the years from Sergio and they have always been as advertised original parts.

I had the same problem with mine, very second hand corroded, etc. I paid slightly more, but a great savings over list.

My 93 512TR had a few minor leaks where some rust had allowed seepage. I could nto locate one and when I did it was ~$1500. I bought some J&B Weld, J-B Weld | Original Cold Weld Formula Steel Reinforced Epoxy
And i put this around the leaks. I think someone on this forum suggested it. It solved the leak and has been perfect for 3 months now. And I might add has been perfect in traffic in summer heat here in Tokyo. Been in traffic for more than an hour going very slowly with temperatures near 40 celsius and no leaks. My advice is try this first and save yourself some cash.

40 °C water temperature? can not be. I think outside temperature? water temperature may go up to 95 °C
right, cheapest way to try first

Gentlemen, Thanks for your suggestions. I almost ordered a new one from Europe but I think I will try the J-B Weld first. Will keep you posted.

Yes I mean outside temperatures not water coolant temperatures! And trust me this JB stuff is impressive. Last weekend had the car on a 5 hour trip,2 of which were in extreme heat with the air con blasting. I had 2 minor leaks, both of which are perfect thus far. Make sure to sand and clean the surface well before using the JB Weld. I allowed an overnight drying process as well just to make sure. Hope this works for you.

    This is small-talk !!

Dou you really want to take that risk ... ? For let's say € 500 ?

You and Madam on tour and that leak-repaired tank shows MORE unidentiefd leaks suddely ? And off that route, on a tow-trailer home ?

We are talking about Ferrari's here I hope ... No way for me ... ever ... just my idea of course ... :)

I have used JB for many things over the years. I have a '72 V12 XKE that had a pin hole in the resevoir tank. I sanded to the metal then used JB weld. Then painted it. It held for two days, sprung a leak. I got a new tank. My advice...like Melvok...get a new one. If there is one rust spot, there are more. Like cockroches, where there is one, there are many more.....Do it right.....
