Does anyone know of a flush chemical which is mild enough so that it won't harm the seals, o-rings, water pump, etc. in the block (and the Aluminum) but aggressive enough so that it will actually clean the system?

Only actual and successful experiences, please...

Per Dave's comments, I am about to flush my 85 QV and all it is going to see is water.

If you are having overheating problems (I am not) I can understand why you might be thinking more aggressively.

I use Prestone Flush. Mild, won't hurt things, but does some good with cleaning. If you are having cooling problems, seriously consider pulling the radiator and having it rodded out or recored. Over time, minerals build up in the radiator, reducing cooling capacity. Even if it seems that water is flowing through, the build-up can reduce heat transfer enough to cause overheating. Rodding can help, but the best cure is recoring with a high efficiency core. Flush the rest of the system, change the thermostat, and refill with a 50/50 mixture of anti-freeze and distilled water with a bottle of Red Line Water Wetter added. My preference is Prestone anti-freeze (NAYYY), but you can use any good quality standard anti-freeze.
