    Hi,

Especially on the right hand rear ( 328 GTS) there is a coolant leakage when the engine is warm. After partly disassembling it, it looks like it is coming from BEHIND the waterpump...?! Does this mean the pump just went south?

    Regards,

    Richard

Could be - could be one of the two hoses under the plenum - hard to tell from the description.

When my WP went it was throwing water out the front.

I had the issue you are describing when my water pump bit the dust.

Unfortunately it was on the way out of town for a long weekend with my wife. Approximately 60 miles from home I noticed some steam/smoke from the engine bay. Had to have it towed home, switch cars and resume our trip. My wife was not happy to say the least.

Thanks for all the quick replies!
I checked the hoses ( sleeves ) this morning and it looks like the water pump went bust....
Well, at least I know what to do during my upcoming holiday.

    Regards,

    Richard

ajajaj, after two days of hard work and rebuilding an as good as new waterpump.....
indeed, the o-ring was the cause of the leakage....
At least the coolant is replaced and the waterpump should be fine for years....
    Thanks for all the hints!

    Regards,

    Richard

glad to hear it was just the o-ring.

as fastradio once suggested, keep an eye on the 2 weep holes on the underside
of the w.p. housing. once dribbles are noticed, time for rebuild or replace.
