Triumph Spitfire 1500. Put some aftermarket suspension and r-comp tires and you'll be smiling ear-to-ear all day!!!!
Oh, I forgot you can get a really nice 88+ 928! How I forgot that one is beyond me Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ditch the side steps for rocksliders, lockers front and rear, winch, swaybar disconnects, miminal bumpers for increased approach and departure angles, Rubicon rack in the back for that extra fuel, tools, cooler and spare. A friend Rhino-Lind his ENTIRE Willys. Not one single squeak has been heard since and you just hose the whole thing off inside and out.
I know a green Lotus Esprit Turbo and tricked out Ford Falcon historic rallycar in Potomac/N. Gathersburg that may be for sale. I'd sell my Lancia for $15K. Its a driver, pretty unique but shares parts sources w/ other cars so parts are available and I don't get to use as much as I should. Spitfire was my first car ever. Never again. Would do a Fiat over any Triumph. Not many places to offroad without a long drive around here makes the Jeep less appealing. I've got a lifted semi-convetible truck tons of mods and if you choose to go that route, PM me before buying.
2007 maybe even 2008 Sebring convertible. You don't have to give two craps about it just pound it into the ground, leave the top down at the store yada, yada...Flame suit on.
I flipped through every single copy of Webster's dictionary that I could lay hands on. Not a single one had a picture of a Sebring anywhere close to the definition of "Coolest car you can get for under $15k". Perhaps I need an updated version.
Only $11,000 and real cool! http://americandreamcars.com/1963caddycnvt.htm For $15,000 it doesn't get any cooler than this one: http://americandreamcars.com/1964caddycnvt021204.htm
May not be "cool", but best fun for your buck would be to buy a $5000.00 MG Midget and spend $10,000.00 converting it to a superbly responsive and great handling "boy racer style" street legal autocross race car ... I have owned Lotus, Lancia, kit cars, and driven many modern sports cars and nothing is as much fun regardless of the money. If you were driving it last weekend in Springfield (11 F Sunday morning) with the top down it would qualify as cool. Or even frigid.
Would it be possible to build a very basic Cobra replica (Factory Five or others) using an old 5.0 Mustang for $15k? How about a Lotus 7?
The lovechild of DaimlerChrysler with a hand-built 330 hp AMG motor. Only about 2000 Coupes imported and one year only (except a handful of 2006 models). Fast and beautiful, classy in black. You can find really nice ones for $15k though the 'verts will cost about an extra 3 to 5. Image Unavailable, Please Login
