    When I got my helicopter rating in an R22 many years ago, the flight school used to regularly bring R22s onto their leaseback program with something like 2 years and 1000 hours to go. The idea being that the school could run the hours off-- and they did.

    As a private owner, I guess you want to look for the opposite in a used R44-- one where somebody flew it 500 hours per year for it's first few years, so it has 7-8 years left and 500 hours, or something like that.

    Its still the best kept secret in the Army. Although now we get W-1 pay from the day we graduate WOCS.
