Why do I have problems with Fchat?

When I drag a picture from most websites it keeps the name of the file. So if you drag more than one picture you don't have to rename it. When I drag a pict from Fchat it is always named attachment-1 and requires renaming if I want to drag another picture.

Also, if I use the "Save Image As" command it takes about 30 sec. to downloaded a picture that takes a 1/10th of a sec. to drag it to the computer and Firefox is frozen until it completes.

    What is going on?

Let me guess: you have a Mac. For a PC it's a simple right-click/save as.

    No this is XP w/Firefox

It is as simple as right-click save as. It just takes about 20-30 seconds to download the picture when it should take about 1/2 sec I would think. If I drag the picture it takes 1/2 sec. but it doesn't keep the file name.

BTW- All sites when I use the right click method take 10-30 secs.

I have this issue with my Mac, I was told by a friend of minr to change my browser from Safari to Firefox but that didn't seem to solve the problem.

I've seen this issue with Firefox under XP. It seems to take Firefox a while to access the explorer menu to select a save location. FWIW, this tends to only happen on the first "save as" after launching Firefox. Subsequent saves are fairly quick.

I suspect this is another Windoze "feature" when accessing the file system using the "published" system calls (rather than the MS internal ones).
(Whatever happened to the court ordered breakup of Microsloth, anyway?)

For how much better Firefox is supposed to be, I sure do hear about a lot of problems.
I'm using XP w/IE and it all works fine.

    Clear up some memory
ie. temp internet files, cache memory.
    usually that speeds things up

I agree, I spent 20 minutes trying to get Firefox to play videos. Back to Internet Explorer....

That's because when people have problems with IE, they don't look for help --- they just switch to Firefox. ;)
