Well given that the percentage rate (Doc?) of our infections/deaths per whatever of the population is many times lower than that of the Ooessay,I'd say that economy is probably lesser of importance than lives saved.
Sweden did a great job of doing nothing and paying for it in lives.

Here’s the world list sorted according to deaths per million population - clearly, small densely populated places like San Marino, Belgium are most severely impacted by this virus. But it does seem to me that places which have more spread out populations but who DIDN’T take urgent measures are further up the list than they might have been (Sweden, USA, maybe Britain to a degree). Australia has the benefit of low density outside the capitals but we still must recognise the incredible achievement of only 4 deaths per million.

Great percentages here: population 10 mill,CV19 cases so far 62000,deaths so far 5209.
Wish we had those numbers rather than a busted economy 'cos money comes before lives.....apparently.

 

Sweden is no. 7 on deaths per million (516) - means .05% of their population has died in about 3 months... for comparison Australia's annual death rate is usually around 0.66%

 

How's that a comparison?

 

well if that rate continued then they's have annual death rate from Covid of .20% and assuming their normal death rate is similar to our, that's nearly a third of all deaths in the year would be due to Covid OR their annual rate will show much higher.
More simply, our covid death rate is 4 per million so our rate is .0004% over the 3 months.
