I still laugh at your face. You had your wallet open in your hands and then someone says it's $80 tip.....each! Priceless.
Mate, I can't even remember the place, but it certainly wasn't the Ritz. It amounted to a 4 or 500 $ tip. Drinky McDrinkface had the best idea. We should have just put it on the bar.
Fines in Victoria for various China-virus infringements are around 20,000 with only about 900 fines having been paid !. At that rate it will take the sheriffs office years to door knock and collect . Fines in Victoria have a statutory life of 5 years ...............hilarious if you come to an arrangement with the courts and the payment extend over the 5 year period ,that balance is also non enforceable .
What Boaty said was 'I travel extensively around the world and 10% tip is the norm' or words to that effect. I start looking at a couple of 'Extensive' world travellers, namely KIAI and Guido and they were pretty much shaking their heads and looking for a way out of the place. I did a runner with the one armed bandit in his Vettro....that was almost as entertaining as watching pless have an apoplexy with boaty...WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!
PP was incredibly calm, mature and reasonable, in the face of Boaty being emotive, irrational and making a fool of himself. btw we had left a 10% tip, Boaty wanted it to be 20%
This tipping thing gives me the sh!ts I totally understand the reason behind it in the US and when the service is exceptional in Oz but I really got angry when I did the Alaska inside passge cruise last year where Celebrity Cruises charged a mandatory daily tipping fee as part of the cruise fees, it was just added to the cruise charges and this was one of the more expensive cruises. Watching the cruise ship special on Sunday night only mad me even angrier at the blatant tax evasion of the cruise lines and the way they use Philippino staff to cut wages and then charge travellers extra to supplement the staff wages ... absolutely disgusting behaviour. FFS, stop paying the waiting staff piss poor wages and just make the meals dearer , I'm NOT here to pay your staff's wages you crooks ! If I find the serving staff exceptionally friendly and helpful that's worth a 10% tip (to THAT member of the staff which is why I always give it directly to the person providing the service, NOT the house.) Rant just beginning
I thought it was about a redback each that he wanted, how many did we have 15-20 blokes, either way it would have ended up being a good tip.
Meds Meds and booze don't mix.. I reckon he is a reformed alcoholic ....too many Baron Hertzog's in his youth
