Hey Mike, off topic here but recently a few peoples avatars have disappeared, including mine any idea what's happened? Is this just my end??
Avatars were disabled for non-paying users, which is how it was intended and how it was before the ZenForo update. There's a thread about it somewhere.
Regarding Covid, Australia is "of interest" to us, because you choose a different strategy ("Zero covid") which would probably not have been possible in continental Europe, with too many common borders between the different countries (Viruses do not stop at borders...). Admittedly, the Delta variant, much more contagious, has changed the game everywhere (in the U.S.A, for instance). These days, France is slowly creeping out of its fourth Covid wave, the Delta variant; numbers are 7.068.630 contaminations since the start, and 117.062 deaths for 66 millions inhabitants (= more or less one person in nine has been contaminated). The Delta variant has proved much more infectious, but the rate of vaccination (73,57% one dose; 65,71% two doses at the start of this week) has limited the damage (vaccines do not prevent contamination, but diminish the consequences); 95% of persons hospitalised during the "Delta wave" (= July and August) were unvaccinated. No P & R here, just the - official - numbers. Conclusion: overall, the glass is half full or half empty; not a success with numbers so high. Compared to a few months ago, there aren't much criticism of the vaccine nowadays; even if quite a number of persons still choose not to have it (for instance in French Polynesia) but criticism has almost completly stopped. It's the "Sanitary Pass" (which allows you access to trains, restaurants, etc...) that people are now protesting. The numbers in the manifestations have been diminishing regularly for a few weeks now. Seems that people are protesting more the vaccine in Australia than here now. Rgds
Probably don't need their phones anymore. Direct 5G connection from brain to whomever they like now active.
