Japan is sitting at around 7,000 cases per day and Australia at around 3,500 cases per day.. But lots of tourists getting sick ........Shakes head again .
Cheers Karen, will let him know. FYI: When I went there in July 2019, pre-Covid, I reckon 50% of the locals were wearing masks here and there. Not all on cramped public transport or public places, they were wearing masks anywhere and everywhere which had me baffled a little bit. Then I Googled that the Japanese people also wear masks when they are sick, so they do not pass on their sickness to anyone else which is very considerate of them. Thanks again.
Funny. Having lived in Japan for 10 years, the Japanese certainly don’t wear mask because they are considerate and don’t want to pass on their flu/sickness to others. The Japanese have a tradition/culture of going to work even when sick, so the Japanese wear masks so they don’t catch a cold from their sick colleagues. I was also told by numerous Japanese colleagues that in Japanese tradition, passing on a cold ensures a speedier recovery, no doubt to encourage sick workers to continue working or return to work earlier.
