    Can anyone advis me what the correct stamping on a borrani rim for a lusso and PF coupe. For the lusso I have never seen a '/B' at the end of the 3801

    No, they had just returned form the re-builder and they were covered with polishing rouge. In case you're wondering about the crack, it was overlooked so it went back to the shop.

    Thanks John....have you ever seen /B at the end of 3801 ? I have a set as per your photo and am looking at a spare set but it has the /B at the end which worries me

    Grant, mine has the word "RECORD" after the number 3801. The wording is clipped in photo I posted earlier.

    Do you know if the dimensions of your wheels are the same as a standard RW-3801? If so, then it is possible that the 3801 wheels were re-laced for special use. Who knows, your wheels may have celebrity status, maybe in a previous life they served in the anterior of the 330LM ; )

    Good luck in your search.

    Taken from"Classic Wheels History and Evaluation Guide" by Route Borrani"

    pp48:

    "Some RW numbers have a slash and one more digit, for instance RW 2460/1, the original wheel for a Maserati A6GCS. This indicates the original design has been modified in some way, mainly because competition wheel specificiations could be different for each race track."

    15 x 6.5L RW 3801 is correct for a 250 Ferrari

    Borrani nomenclature is:

    Rim Dimension
    Record = Light alloy rim
    RW = Rudge Whitworth
    4 Numberic digits = drawing number (and relevant application)

    No, It's directly from the Borrani book (which is in English). I assume that "Record" is simply their way of designating light alloy rims.
