What shade of black was the airbox originally painted? Is powder coating considered okay?
    Thanks, Vince

In mine the airbox is a slight satin black. I would say powder could work if you pick the right shading and gloss. Be sure to remove the metal tag by removing the rivet first, then re-rivet it afterward.

I have serviced quite a few 330 GCTs and some of the very early ones had shiney paint while the later ones, mine included, had satin black.

I think this one still has the original black paint.

Do no 330 GTC's have the snorkel style air cleaner cover?

My 330 GTC, a very early triple roller chain one, had the air box as shown above with a "slight" wrinkle paint. (I.e., not heavy wrinkle has seen on Daytonas.)

Interesting photos, thanks. Chassis number is 10267, licensed as a 68, but should be a 67. The car is a black plate CA car, seemingly fairly original 330(someone put a 70's radio in it at some point), with 45K miles(before engine rebuild- - ongoing!). It has the snorkel type air filter box, like the one painted in krinkle, except it was black- I believe satin. The valve covers are krinkle, and the FERRARI casting is NOT painted. At car shows I see both krinkle and satin air boxes, and FERRARI casting sometimes painted, sometimes not! Mine was US delivery(Bill Harrah) if that matters(the US delivery part, not the Bill Harrah part).
While we are on paint....what color should the harmonic damper be, silver or black? Vince
