Dose any one know the original colour of plating on the screws, bolts and washers that attach the inner guard linings on a 328 (1988). The ones on my 1988 appear to have been silver plated (maybe chrome?) in the case of the screws and cadnium plated "bolts" but I believe time and paint is hiding the truth.
    Thanks in anticipation

Thanks. It must be that someone has replaced the original screws with S/S screws. The original metal threads are cadnium plated so I will just have them all re-plated as I understand the originals are NLA.
    Again thanks

I have had other fixtures re-plated on some of my other cars which were obviously cad plated. The problem with these ones is that while the metal threads were still showing the gold colour in places like under the head of the screw the self tapper type screws that go into the speed nuts are s/s with a black painted or anodized head--I thought maybe this 88 GTB may have been different to other 328-anyway thanks for all you replies I will infact have them re-coated or replace them where I can get the right match.
Oh and Peter---I do all the detailing and straight forward work myself. The only outside mechanic I have used is Zegami --why do you ask?

That's why I ask. So Zagame is doing a full engine and suspension rebuild on your 308GTBi? Really?

All the work on the GTBi is being done in my workshop. I do the basic stuff , my mechanic brother does the technical stuff. If anyone would like more details just PM me, I am happy to share information.

oh that makes more sense! good on ya. I wish i could do that stuff. I would have been amazed if someone sent a 308 to Zagames for an engine rebuild!
