As I recall there was a really thorough thread about this a few months ago - worth looking for

aah found it and read it. my last later production 1979 308 GTB has the same lighter as my current later production 1979 308 gtb the odds of them not being original are very slim. know where to get a NOS or OEM replacement ?

Funny...my 79 308GT4 (March build) has the "early style" of lighter pictured in the other thread.

Easy eBay search found these mid-period ones:

Or you are looking for Brico Pram style?

If you just want to replace the heater element, there are cheap alternatives but the graphic is just similar and not entirely correct.

That one in the pic was used on the 2Vi

FIAT used it in the X1/9 as well. In other words, for those of you that need that one, buy from a FIAT supplier and save 400%.

Those can be found for $10-$20 each, you're talking about 2000%.

The question is if they are exactly the same? I guess not. Just like the window switches, even from the same manufacturer Torrix, the alfa ones are still different slightly, whether you can tell or not.

    Each to their own :)

They are exactly the same. Believe me. No difference.

Paying 2000% more doesn't change anything but our bank account.
