My 1976 308 GTB (GRP) has a black anodised MOMO steering wheel similar to that fitted to the 328. According to Keith Bluemel's Ferrari V8 book this wheel should be of a different design and silver anodised. Trouble is I have just picked up a picture of a similar model car to mine with the identical black steering wheel. I have an opportunity to swap the black wheel for a silver one. Can any one give me a definitive view on which wheel is correct?

This wheel was a $150 option apparently.

It should be an example with the silver "no-holes" spokes, like speedy308 said before. I am not aware of other types of steering wheels on that model year, but because it´s a Ferrari, you´ll never know....

Wheel with holes from a 246? That said, dealers did try to sell all kinds of upgrades.

Mine's a 77. Like others have said, silver no holes. Momo. Went to Nardi with the FI cars.

My 1977 GTB (actually built entirely in 1976) has the original steering wheel which has silver spokes with no holes. I do not believe the steering wheel pictured to be correct. Then again with Ferrari everything is a crap shoot.

Yes mine are both '77s, both silver.

But I've seen two '76 GTBs with black wheels.

No holes either way just difference in finish.

There ARE a lot of variables even in these later 'mass produced" cars.

I noted once on a car VERY close to my #22127 that the window glass trimming was done differently, as if "oh we're low on the black rubber, well just run the fuzzy edge bead all the way, then."

This was by the vent window in the doors, I KNEW both cars were original.....

Mine has the fuzzy window trim as well.

Silver Wheel no holes, spokes are flat across the top 180° (not angled like the black wheel above).

Thanks for all the input guys - the silver / no holes wheel is the one I can get and the view among the punters down here seems to favour this as the correct one. Will make the trade. Agreed on the spec differences between sister cars - perhaps the guys were drinking so much grappa that they forgot to read the manuals!!!

My '78 GTS has the same wheel. Even though the PO listed it as an upgrade I'm sure it was stock.

Maybe the black one i posted was an optional item, the silver was listed in the option list at $150, so it seems standard is silver no holes there cleared up.
