Just saw something posted in a now-locked thread regarding pchop & bullrun. I wish I could have responded in that thread, but I'll post clarification here. The word "freeloader" is inappropriate. Pchop was a guest of the Bullrun (invited by Andy & David) and paid for every single meal and entertainment expense himself. He was not a driver on the rally and didn't sign up to be so.

He's a generous guy and every time I've been out with him he's paid his fair portion (and then some!). Everyone should calm down and stop the name-calling, and to entice you, I share with you the following reminder of what Bullrun was REALLY about....

Given that this is coming from somebody that was on the run and spent time with pchop, and somebody who has always been impartial and fair, I'll take it over other views expressed to the contrary.

Apologies for the freeloader comment made John.

I don't know nothing about freeloaders, but I do know that Ashley is HOT!!! I woulda gone on the Bullrun just to chase her around...

if BOTH my Fcars hadn't been in the shop at the time of the Bullrun - DAMN, I hate it when that happens!

Getting back to the aforementioned thread, both John and Vik are great guys and they've both manned up time and again. Its very difficult to see two guys I know and like go at it in this way :( And as far as freeloaders go, I wasn't on the Bullrun, but I know John is a standup guy, and I can't imagine he didn't pay his own way.

Both Vik and John, please keep the harsh words OFF Fchat - no need for this. We were all friends at one point. I'm still friends with you guys, so I'm not getting in the middle - just call each other and settle it!

    David

Well said David. I'll be the first one to admit that I've had some great times with John. The Summer of 2004 holds some of my fondest sports car memories, and John was a big part of that period.

We've drifted much from where we were as friends, but people and circumstances evolve and clearly we've both chosen to walk down separate paths, which is fine.

Given this, though, why not recognize our differences and work around them. There's enough room on FChat for both of us. Why resort to snide comments, innuendos, jibs and jabs? If you continue to have an issue, call me off line and lets deal with it like mature adults. If not, leave well enough alone and don't instigate. There is no humor left in provoking the situation further given the history.

The irony of this incident cannot be denied: I've made my peace with much of the EC, and they with me. I respect what Brad has done, and wish that community nothing but the best. I think FChat and EC have learned to coexist - and coexist well - with each respecting the boundaries of the other. I am glad that there is a large and growing overlap between the two communities.

So John - offering an open handshake here. You're welcome on this board (you always have been), but lets not make it personal, and if there are issues, lets not drag them online.

    Deal?

I can't help but notice that most everyone who has spoken up would like at the least like to see no open hostility. At best, we would love to see a handshake and the hatchet buried...not in each other's head. (We can dream, can't we?). After all, as Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said, “You don’t make peace with your friends, only with your enemies.” (just before they shot him).

    The real irony here is:
Everytime you are in a jam like this, you point finger on EC vs. Fchat.
This has absolutely nothing to do with that.

This is about you, and how you're being a moderator.

You are a resentful, arrogant, self-centered individual who moderates with double-standard. You know it, I know it, your ex-friends know it, your current friends know it.

--- You know how you handled your banning power during moderating.
--- You know how you banned Hubert wrongfully and what kind of apology you offered him afterwars.
--- You know you insulted Rehan in a manner you will never tolerate if it were someone else doing it to you.
--- You know you love to get the last words in as much as anyone you are in argument with, and yet the fault is always on the other person.
--- Funny you mentioned the "good old time" of summer-late 2004, you know how many old timers here considered you a friend and you considered them the same, and funny how most of these people don't want to have anything to do with you now. But of course, they must be the ones that are wrong.

    Need I say more?

Anyway, this post is not to knock you.
Feel free to continue riding your high horse, feel free to live in denial, feel free to blame everything on everyone else ...
Just do us a favor, be a stand-up man, don't blame all your problems on EC vs. Fchat.
