So Eric Curran & I were competing at FARA Sunset 300 this weekend @ Homestead Speedway.
This was a night race, clouds started gathering. Eric went out 1st on slicks then the skies opened up & it started raining. Eric came in for rain tires & fuel.
Our original plan since this was a 4 hr race was Eric was to do 1st hr then Id do 2&3 and Eric would finish. The rain shredded those plans.

The car ran great but we were not prepared for rain. Car had no wipers, no windshield defoggers, & only 1 set of old rain tires . Well it rained ALL night long. We were dealing w rain, fog, lightning, flooding etc.

Fogging got so bad we almost DNF'd but Eric persevered & ended up driving near 3 hrs in horrible conditions.

I took over last hour. My first time racing at night and in a 650hp missile w no wipers. I was very gentle w throttle all around.

Finally we ended 2nd in Class & 5th Overall.

That was truly a learning experience & quite the adventure LOL

These are my Hubbell bubbles :)

Eric just came off a win at Detroit at IMSA in C7DP last weekened

Sat was sunny & I won the first race. Had a short battle a new big Radical & a Trans Am car for a few laps. I was a bit rusty but once I knocked that off I kicked their butts in the banking

Eric won the 2nd race easily

3rd race I screwed up start by forgetting to up shift On green & the Radical got by
Towards end a little POS prototype got by me into turn 1. I had him lined up to pass in the banking and he jerked his car almost into me at 130mph. Needless to say. I was PISSED. That dirty move kept me from passing & I took 2nd cus Radical was disqualified.

In the garage He came over & I gave him a piece of my mind for that crap. He said "I'll beat you in next race"

**** was so scared he didn't grid until 2 min before race

So Next race I unleash Eric again w orders to annihilate. Eric won easily lapping the ****

After race **** was too scared to come get his trophy LOL

Fchat Jeff & I won last FARA Sprint race last month & Eric & I took this one

Got to keep this streak going

Next race at Sebring in July. Eric will be busy but I already have a Sebring winner lined up to teach me & Co Drive

You and Eric did an amazing job. I was nervous as hell watching you guys race in the rain. :(

It was great seeing all of you who came out Sat & Sun.

Congrats again! Hoping to make it to the race next month in Sebring. :)

Racing in the rain at night w no wipers or defroster was quite the experience.

I'm amazed we took 2nd in Class given the obstacles

    Eric did a great job
