Just woke up to not only more awful snow, turned the tv on, Early Today on NBC and saw something I had to do a double, even a triple take on. A concept 2014 Corvette Callaway Hatchback Stingray that looks an FF? I do love the 63 Corvette and the like new GS but people at GM please get your own style and stop trying to copy Ferrari and others. I'm sick of these people, American auto makers, putting out knock offs. And I don't mean wheels either. These people saying "looks like a Bentley doesn't it"? No, it's a Chrystler. Theirs even a body kit that will make a 300 "look" like a Bentley. Accept what you have and move on!!!
Why has Ferrari ever tried to look like another design? Because Ferrari is freakin awesome..
Sorry about the rant but seriously man, come on.....

    Much ado about nothing ?
Back in the late 60s John Silva was marketing the Mako Shark conversions (shooting brake) in Ferrari slang for the 68 and newer corvettes. The styling was typical for the time and I cant recall anyone claiming it was a copy of anything else. The 250 GTO "Breadvan" was most likely unheard of here so... I was 15 years old then and the first one I saw left an indelible impression on me.
I believe Mr. Silva has since passed away but his creations may have the same following as Joel Rosen's Motion cars of the same era...

If I'm not mistaken, GM had nothing to do with this " Shooting Brake " Corvette C7.
It's a Callaway modification, and for what it's worth.... it looks better than the FF
    at the rear.

The Callaway C7 "Shooting Brake" appears to be an inside design from Callaway. I know Reeves quite well an when his design group gets together the results speak for themselves.
This most likely will not be offered in "kit" form as Callaway markets only completed vehicles thru GM. At corvette Carlisle last year I inquired about supercharging my GS and was informed that they only sell (rpo) thru GM dealers, specifically Chevrolet.
As to a trip to Old Lyme Ct to see if things have changed... stay tuned.

Hypothetically speaking... 20 years from now and the FF is long gone, parts discontinued after the paint on the last car off the assembly line dries will you still be able to get parts/service support ?
My money is on the continued support from GM and various suppliers/restorers/vendors to keep the pipe line going.
    Ferrari, I don't think so...

Not for nothing, but the Callaway shooting brake is better looking than the FF.
