    I have a 2000 360 with the F1 transmission. What's the typical cost of having the clutch replaced if I go to a Ferrari dealer?

    I think part of the expense depends on whether or not the car needed the ring gear upgrade (I don't recall this being free) and a new throwout bearing. The original poster mentioned his car was a 2000 model, so unless this was replaced on a prior clutch change, they likely should be done.

    Lou is right. I have a year 2000 360 (F1 Tranny) and, out of curiosity, asked a local repair shop how much to replace the clutch and the response was "it depends on what we find when we're in there" when pressed for amounts I got "between $3500 and $6000" for the same reasons Ferrarilou mentions.

    The previous owner of my 360 had the clutch replaced at Lake Forest Ferrari and here is a detail of the bill and cost.

    "Check trans 5th and 6th gear pop out and go into N ck advise, clutch wear at 86% and clutch closed over pis setting. worn clutch. NEC to replace worn clutch assembly update ring gear for pressure plate and replace clutch throwout.
    Bearing and rebuild clutch slave and reinstall all parts and bleed hydraulic system and perform relearn on clutch system."
    replace clutch = 18.0 hrs labor = $2322.00
    total parts = $3986.19
    total = $6308.19

    Thats a pretty good bill!!!!!!

    Thats what mine was but it was getting a major service so they were in there anyway so the labor was probably lower

    Frank,

    No problem! Remember there is always room for negotiations when getting estimates at the dealer. You can always order the parts from Daniel at Ricambi, they will be cheaper than the dealer mark up.

    BTW, if I recall correctly, the ~$5500 price also included updating the starter ring from 3 bolts to 6 bolts. It may have also included updating the T/O bearing housing, but don't quote me on that.

    You could also do the ECU upgrade for the F1, toss on another $2k!

    I wasn't paying too much attention to the exact price. I'm planning on doing the job myself when it's needed. I'm also considering switching over to a different flywheel and a Tilton carbonfiber clutch.

    When I sold my 360, I had 13,600 miles on the clutch with 12% wear. When I purchased my CS, it had 4,900 miles and 12% on the clutch. I've since added 7,500 miles and my total clutch wear is 14%. They will last if you drive them correctly. :)
