$1.83 in the far western Chicago suburbs. How soon before they put out the "special blend" gas for our winter driving in Chicago, and jack the prices up?!?

the local food market has a promotional card that gets you a discount at participating gas stations according to how much you purchase. my son in law bought gas yesterday for .68 cents a gallon.

That must be a calculating error, or else I should start filling up in Germany again. Just paid 1,27 Euro/Liter and that is over 6 $/Gallon. Of course I only pay 80 Euro/month for health insurance, a government has to get their money one way or the other.

    Hey there Carbon..

Yeah i have been on the quiet side for a while i guess moving from the West coast to the East coast and then back to the Midwest in 13 months can take the wind out of anyone's sails.

I am doing OK just quite busy working and trying to get settled in for a change.

    Have a great Thanksgiving.

    Matt,

Sorry, but out here in Gainesville we are paying $1.67 and dropping everyday, that includes the Shell stations.

    Hello Bert,

you are correct. I made the mistake while calculating the EUR / USD conversion. My new result ist $ 5,80 / gallon.

    Best Regards from Germany

Oil companies are actually using different blends of gas for every season. You just don't notice it as it does what it is intended for - keep your car running independent of the weather/temperature.
