Brand new to Ferrari world. Need to know if the 612 is ridiculous when it comes to maintenance like ... say ... Bentleys (Arnage & Azur). I know some Ferraris require certain "engine-out" services. Is this true for the 612? As Ferraris go ... are they substantially more? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have had many exotics but not Ferraris!
No engine out maintenance on 612s. Cam belts need to be changed every five years, auxiliary belts every three years and fluids and filters at various intervals from 1-3 years. Hydraulic lifters so no valve adjustments. Tires every 5-10K miles, depending on make and driving style (540 hp and 434 ft lbs of torque). The 612s have proven to be very reliable. Costs vary with location and whether an FNA dealer or an independent. Averaged over five years and maintained by the book (no tires, includes cam belts), $1000-1500 annually. No idea on costs for a Bentley so no ability to compare. Taz Terry Phillips
Hi Denver612 I too am a new 612 owner. I just did an annual fluid service (Newport Ferrari) and it was $1800. Changed all fluids in the car, they recommend this to be done annually Like Terry said, absent costs for clutch and belt service, this is probably the annual costs you will incur The 612 is my 1st Ferrari and I chose the 612 for several reasons, one of which is that it seems to be one of the more reliable Fcars. I remember seeing someone with a 60Kmile 612 that he/she drives everyday. Also, I have kids, so the backseat is a must If you are negotiating, I would recommend to make the dealer do the belt service before you picked up the car. I was lucky enough to have had that done so it was 1 less headache for me
That $1800 is on the high end, as you would expect for a Newport Beach FNA dealer, but representative. All the fluids every year is overkill, but makes it pretty simple. Taz Terry Phillips
Just had mine serviced at the dealer for the annual. It was $1100--a special they were running. Car is solid as long as you drive them. Had issues with a the 599 as they were not driven that often.. The major was $5500 at the dealer. My 612 has 10K miles on it with 22% wear on the clutch so if you drive it and drive it right they perfect
have my 09' OTO since new and 5k hard driven miles, only oil and brake fluid changes for $700+ at the dealer ONCE, rear tires going in another 1k miles maybe might cost another $900. All in all, i only service my fcars once or never in their short time with me which is mostly less than a year and having a warranty is great because i dont have to worry about it. So, in a sense, i think fcars are really cheap to keep, but extremely costly when u wanna sell.
