    Hi,

Am considering adding one of the above to my garage. Obviously two very different driver experiences. I currently have a Gallardo and used to have a 360 so am somewhat familiar with maintenance costs and the inherent engineering issues with low volume production cars.

The cars I am considering have both been well maintained, regularly driven with around 15k miles. Beyond the extra sparkplugs does anyone have insight into the difference in maintenance costs? Any known issues to watch for on the 599s?

    Thanks,

    cw

Based on the number of views there seems to be some curiosity about the issue of the post but the comparison may be a bit difficult.

Does anyone know of any common issues with the 599s? Given that I am buying an 07 the car will be out of warranty and likely just coming off of a lease. Want to make sure that any issues that just crop up with time/miles are at the very least a known quantity and preferably addressed before I take possession!

    Thanks,

I would be curious to hear from someone who has had both. I had a 2007 599 that I put about 30k miles on and honestly I am not aware of any common issues. I had problems with little electrical things like the glove box. I have had a few warning lights come on (usually my fault for not keeping the car charged properly).

I would call your local dealer and just ask the service people. The most knowledgeable person on this forum will likely be someone who works in the service department of a dealer.

    CW,
I had a 4yr. service (FULL Fluids, accessory belt, spark plugs, all air/oil filters) completed on my 07 599 this Spring and it was in the 1,300-1,400 range if that helps. My car is also on e-bay if your interested but I suppose with the miles your looking at mine will be to expensive..Kevin

No gremlins at all? Amazing! 430s have headers that needed replacement and there seem to be issues with the F1 pumps and clutches (as on the same gen Lamborghini eGear systems).

Am feeling more and more the pull fo the v12 experience over the 430. :)

Comparing the service cost to my Testarossa (F512M). The 599 GTB comes no way near the expense of my Testarossa. The 599 GTB is pretty much Bullet proof. I did change all the fluids as of March 2011. As well as the Belt service. It was around $1,900.00.
Next year I will only need to do a full fluid flush. It should just cost around a thousand dollars or so. I think the 599 GTB. Is one of the user friendly Ferrar's made.
It does not break your wallet like a Testarossa. No Engine out service. Parts are much easier to locate. I also did purchase the Power Cube Warrranty. Valid till July of 2012.
Honestly I saved a whole bunch on service cost. I really do like my 599 GTB. So far I have no problems at all. No red lights on the dash. I will be adding the HGTE Suspension Kit. And thinking about a Super Charger as well. Lets see just thinking about the super charger.
The gear box should handle the added pressure with ease. BUY One you will love it. NO need to worry about service. Very practical Ferrari and easy on the wallet side too..

Plan on having a "flying mirror" Testarossa some day, have been planning since a kid.

Based on the feedback to this and other postings have told my dealer to start searching for a 599 instead of F430 Spider. WIll keep the 04 Gallardo and send it off to be TTed once the 599 is found. That should cure the desire to have whiplash self inflicted Now to figure out the convertible jones.

I have owned my 599 now for 6 months with no problems. My 07 430 only had one problem but it was a doozy. The F1 pump went out under warranty with 2500 miles on the car. A 15K repair out of warranty.
