Stay for the concerts in the evening. It's usually worth it but can make for a butt-whippingly long day. Don't bother trying to leave and come back, it can be done but it's rough. LaCantera probably has a shuttle, that might make it easier to go put your feet up for a bit.

Leaving the Track at all is madness....

Find a lounge (cafe in Media Center, Bubba's Wild Game in T4) and rest on site, if you want to make it to the Show.

BigTex Helpline is up and running!

But I'm not in town, staying in Houston or maybe Luckenbach for the Final Harvest Vintage Motocycle Classic.
Two hours west of the Broken Spoke.

About the same f you start at the Yellow Rose on South Congress!!!

Actually no, Ileft for beer while my camping mate got ready for South Congress, and Billy Joel was 1/2 over by the time I got back into Lot N!!

The perimeter roads were so Grid Locked it was like "pee into a bottle" desperation!!!!

I saw some photos of Friday's practice turnout & it looked packed, I thought about driving down there but I was advised that even GA tickets are difficult to access.

We had a great time! For the record, we parked in lot Z, easy walk from turn 11. Got in early ( 10:30 ish), took less than 10 minutes after leaving the Loop coming up from the south.Quickly exited from the Turn 11 exit, and back to the Loop heading north in less than 20 minutes from getting in the car. Fantastic event, hopefully F1 will return to COTA in 2023.

I sat in the main grandstand at COTA Austin this year so I had a good comparison to the Podium Club from last year. I preferred the main grandstand, nice view of the cars at speed and the uphill into turn one where Sainz crashed, dashing my hopes. No free drinks, but they got rid of the stupid PXG golf demo so less crowded in the Velocity Lounge. I liked it so much I bought the owner's PSL(personal seat license), so now I will get my seats every year for a few years. I'll go to Miami 2023 if I can score tix from friends...PS Parking in Austin also sucks, this year I parked a mile away off site and rented bikes- it worked. On quali day, some parking frustrated yahoo at the lot across from the entrance pulled a gun on someone who cut him off, you can imagine how that snarled things further when the cops swarmed in.

    Congrats on your MGS PSL!!
Lot A Parking normally goes with those seats???

Well done......Velocity Lounge goes from "very nice" to "third World refuge" depending on the weather.

Even the food vendors are "nice enough" as Event Food goes.....
