I really like the Gallardo. I wish that it had traditional scissor door, but I still really like it.

However, the nearest Lamborghini dealer is over 300 miles away.

Could a good Audi dealership service the Lambo for me? Who should I talk to to find out?

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

Well, probably calling your local Audi, they will help you out....

I think with in two years with the R8 coming out they should! I also think traditional scissor doors would have been nice, but they had to cut costs:-(

Just like a ferrari can be serviced at a Fiat dealership.

Only difference is the Gallardo is maintence free except for routine oil change type servicing.

Not sure what you guys are taking medication wise ;)

No they cannot - unless you are just talking about an oil change - and you could do that yourself or probably take it to Jiffy lube for that matter.

However many times (both services I have had 1500 and 7500 on my G) involve technical Campaigns or Service Bulletins - which is under warranty - but is only provided by the dealership. (i.e. - the dealer is the only people who can get the updates from Lambo NA.)

Now if you are talking once the car is out of warranty, or things that do not involve specifics to recalls, updates, etc. I guess you could use an Audi Shop - most would not work on them - due to potential liability issues due to value. At that point - I would rather take it to a good independent Lambo mechanic, or specialist like say your AC needs worked on, etc.

The Gallardo uses a filter element available only from Lamborghini for a pricely $90. Outside of that Mobile 1 and you're good to go.

I knew it was unlikely, but I thought it was worth a post.

Yes, I did mean warranty work.

I assume that taking it to the nearest Lamborghini dealer (over 300 miles away) is the owner's resposibility? (I can call and see...)

Why do you have to take it to the dealer?

Pittsburgh's a big place - is there not a local shop that's authorized to work on Lambos?

    Just my $0.02,

    Neil

My dealer is about 100 miles away - they come and pick it up for service (enclosed Trailer). They did not charge me for either pickup (both services) - however they arrange it when there are a few to be picked up in the area). 300 miles is a little different of course - so there may be a charge. Most dealers will be flexible - I would just give them a call to work out the details...

PS. If you are looking for a mint 04 Gallardo - mine is for sale since I am getting the new Spyder... (Shamless promotion over ;)

    What do you mean, Neil?

I have some trusted mechanics that look after my cars, including my Ferrari 330. They could do the work, and keep the warranty in effect (in according to Federal law), but they can't carry out warranty repairs, and have Lamborghini USA cover the repairs, right?

Since Lambo is now a German company, it is sure worth a try...come to think of it though, should there even be a Lambo section on FChatt anymore since it has traditionally been dedicated to Ferraris and other Italian marques?

Thank you for the helpful post, Richard. I would be using the same dealership that you do.

talking about Jiffy lube oil change....when I was bringing the car from fla to so calif..I needed to change the breakin oil desparately.. we were in a
medium size Texas town. went to a 10 min oil change place.

They had a pit. Couldn't get drain plug out. Jason on the phone with them...they refused to try any more ..sent me to a regular Mechanic..
he refused to even put it on a lift. Everyone is petrified of the "liability".

Anyhow bought a siphon pump. siphoned 4 qts out put 4 new in started eng..stoped pumped 4more out on so on. after 19 qts of this I had some reasonably pure Mobil one installed.
