What do you do when it is threatening to rain--send then out in order and let the chips fall as they may ??
Then what happens to the 107% rule ??

There are plenty of occurrences where Q1 or Q2 has the fastest lap times Q1 = dry Q2,3 = rain.

I guess with nearly 700 posts and radio silence from Newey and his suitors there’s little else to be said about it. The vacuum must be filled!

How many years does Newey have left in him? 4 or 5? Remember, he's not going to be doing the day to day work. He's essentially a consultant at Red Bull.

Ferrari need young talent that can be with them for a good 10+ years. Relying on one guy to be in total control of the technical department is not a guy idea - at all. It puts the team in a vulnerable position, should that designer decide to up and leave, as Newey has a history of doing. Then you're in a situation where there's a brain drain like we're currently seeing at Red Bull.

Vasseur wants people who are loyal to him, just as all good team principles do. There's a reason Ross Brawn and Patrick Head took on the powers of "technical director". They feared a mutiny if any of the chief designers got too big for their britches.

Well, it's not like the current culture at Ferrari F1 is really working now is it?

    They win races.

I mean, one could say the same about Mercedes or McLaren. How many years did McLaren go without winning even a single race? Mercedes went almost 3 years with only one victory. Ferrari in that time have more races and scored more points than either.

No, Ferrari haven't won a title in years. But they always tend to win races, and typically finish in the top 3 in the WCC. Plenty of teams would give anything for their results. Ferrari are not a team that needs massive change. They just need better chemistry between the various departments.

Yes, Ferrari is so near, and yet so far of a championship.
A win now and then seems to satisfy them.

This has become as boring a soap opera, like Taylor Swift, and Sainz going to Williams. There is a week to go before the second half of the season begins, and Adrian will be making no difference to what happens the rest of this year.

Correct. Banned from all F1 technical meetings etc for months now. The joke billionaire hyperwhatever-car is mostly done. In real terms he matters zero to F1 and will have minor impact to any teams next F1 car. But he gets clicks lol :)

Now rumors about Briatore trying to hide Newey at all costs..
This soap opera is never ending.
Guess Newey and his wife are entertained by all of this.

You mean "to hire", of course?
"To hide" would make no sense at all, unless Briatore has kidnapped A.N...

No, no, he said it right.

Because kidnapping him would be the only way Briatore could get Newey at his team.

I think that if Newey signed with Ferrari, it would have been announced at the race event.

Maybe…they did a week ago and that’s why Charles’ and Sergio’s cars were competitive this week…stealth hiring for tidbits of competitiveness, and they can dig Red Bull’s flexi front wing out of the bin and strap it on now, too…lol.

I agree with Ferrari. Who is to say Newey would bring overnight success to either Ferrari or Aston.

Newey is the enemy. I never wish to see him at the Scuderia and don’t worry we never will. I do not believe he ever seriously intended to go to Maranello. He has proven again that he simply uses Ferrari as a negotiating tool.

I think Aston will be near impossible because lets say the car is the best on the grid, will anyone teammate be allowed to beat Stroll jnr?
