I'm new to this site and would first like to thank the Members and Mods for keeping this forum up and running and full of great information.

A bit of background...I'm considering my first Ferrari and after a couple of years of ownership of an Aston Martin Vantage V8, I'm considering the purchase of a California. My current dilemma is whether to buy new or used. My only quandary with buying new is that with the six month lead time, if I order now, by the time it arrives, the 2014 models will be just around the corner and with the speculation that a new model could be coming for 2014, I think it might be wise to wait another six months and then order a 2014.

With that said, I'm considering purchasing a pre-owned 2010 - 2011 California, driving it for a year or so and then, trading it for a 2014. After doing exhaustive searching, I'm finding a nice assortment at Boardwalk in Plano, TX...a much wider assortment than what I'm finding in my home area of South Florida.

So, I thought I'd take a moment to ask those who may be familiar with this dealership if they have any input on the current pre-owned models they have in stock as well as input on this dealership. I will say that the initial communications have been excellent and that's a great start.

Any input you may have for this prospective owner as well as things to look for in a pre-owned California is greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks!

You know, if you used that kind of logic, you would have ver bought a PC, laptop, cell phone,... because in 6 months there will always be something better.

Life is to be lived and enjoyed, not frittered away wondering when to start living.

The black one with red stitching at boardwalk plano looked pretty darn slick, but you could always go with the flashy drop top red? Always preference but I agree there will always be something new.

Talk to Shad. He will help you out......

I helped open the store before Boardwalk bought it. It was Ferrari of Dallas then.....You can always check at Ferrari of Houston also. Owned by Giuseppe Risi of Risi Competizione fame.. Ask for Joe Maniaci. Tell him I sent you....

I personally would go for the pre-owned. Go ahead and order the 14 model and drive the California while you are waiting for the new car to arrive. That would give you about 12 to 18 months of driving pleasure while waiting for the new model......If you go ahead and purchase the California and put your name on the list for the new model you will get preferred treatment at trade in time......
