Because I want them and I can afford them. Simple as that! Scott (52) BTW: Happily married for 30 years. Looking forward to another 30!
I was 41, I always liked sports cars and I had the cash so I bought my Lotus. I had a Fiero when I was in my 20's as that was all I could afford at the time. Ken
Well, Im overweight-old-and balding-and have a small penis, felt it was the only way any 20 year old girl would have anything to do with me. Is that what you wer hoping for?
serious replies are appreciated. im not necersarily after that marknkidz. sports cars are usually safer cars at the end of the day. doesnt matter to me why they bought them, it may be for safety or anything else.... im just researching into it for my dissertation

Most of us are car nuts and have been all our lives. Ferrari ( and a few others) are the ultimate in automobiles aren't they? So if you have the money and the personal drive, these would be the cars to own wouldn't it? Personally I go nuts when I see any neat car. I get the same rush from a 250SWB as I do from a GT4. An OSCA or a Studebaker Hawk entices the same response. When buying I just stick to Ferrari right now, it makes me happier. As for improving the size of my penis, driving less than 200 miles a year on my cars just doesn't help size at all.
Been driving lowered performance street cars since ~18 and don't plan on changing (i.e., reaching middle age wasn't a factor).
I think that most men are sport car fans, it's in our nature, but it's not until middle age that most have the money to fund them.
I've driven performance cars since I was 16. They have escalated in value and numbers as I have had greater liquidity. When my oldest son received a full 4 years honors scholarship and announced, "Dad, you are totally off the hook for college" the first Ferrari suddenly appeared. So I guess you could say in my case, my son bought it for me!!
Then please help!! Move to Montana and buy my business, this will free up my weekends so that I can drive my cars more often. Maybe a chairity "Free Bill From His Responsibilities" fund can be set up.
Well let me ask you a question. Right now could you afford to buy and maintain Ferrari? I'm guessing, NO. I'm 35, but I bought my Ferrari when I was 31. It has more to do with your economic possition more than it does with your age. I just happend to be able to afford a Ferrari at age 31. We do have memebers here that bought their first Ferrari in their early twenties, and even one of them bought his first at age 17, if I'm not mistaken. Most young guys would love to buy a "sports car" the day they get their drivers license. But since they don't have the finances to buy the kind of car they really would like, they buy what they can afford. Then later on in life when they finally get the means to buy what they really would have liked to buy when they were young, they do it. For me it was a Ferrari. For others it could be a 60's muscle car, or a ZZ Top style hot rod, or a Lambroghini, or a Porsche, or a Viper, or what ever it was they would have liked to get but didn't have the money to do so. The other thing is life. People get married, have a family, buy a house, family car, put the kids through college, etcetera. Then when they have finished fulfilling the responsibilities of parenthood, and no longer have to put their finances towards raising a family, they start to have fun with the money they have. So that is why you will see "middle aged" men driving sports cars.
Bill, its true, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DRIVE THESE CARS. Please back away from the car, go back to your business and get to work. However, I will be up in Montana this summer and I could arrange to take your car out and put 2k of good exercise on her, of course, while YOU stay at work. Hey man, anything for fellow fchatters!!
Because I can finally afford it. I don't know if 37 qualifies as middle aged, but the desire for a really unique car experience was instilled at an early age and now can be attained. BT
I'd love too, except I'm too busy working 100 hours a week in New York!! Somehow, somewhere, even with a zany schedule, I managed to sneak 4,000 miles in on my 355B. -
