I forgot to mention that for many of us, this is not a new event. Personally, I have had a facination with cars that goes back a lifetime. I had a corvette when I was 20, Porsche when I was 25, my first Ferrari when I was 32 and on and on. So, perhaps it is an error to closely associate buying expansive cars with middle age. I've owned over a hundred cars and many were sports cars of all flavors.

Exactly. Most, imo, buy them in the middle ages b/c they have worked hard, saved, and have finally reached a financially comfortable position and can fulfill their passion for cars they've dreamed about since little.
