The following are my odds for Coulthard in the last race: 401 -- number of crocodile tears he sheds because somebody passed him in Saturday Practice as he was lining up his hot lap. 39 -- The number of words in his lame excuse for not making it out of Q-3. (Maybe: "Despite all my experience and my conversations with the race engineers, the car was understeering badly. After a front wing adjustment, the tires were shot, and Button's aero wash caused me to short the chicane. Then . . . 3.5 -- The number of times he uses the word "unsportsmanlike" (or variants thereof) after Saturday qualifying. 2.5 -- The number of times he "shows the finger" (shoots a birdie) on track over the weekend. 2.5 -- The number of times that Peter Windsor kisses his ass on the grid on Sunday. 10 -- The number of F-Chat people who think he should stay one more year. 1 -- The number of people, including David Coulthard, who believe that David Coulthard is the best driver on the circuit right now.
Gee they left off the number of women he's gotten by being an F1 pilot! Glad I got to see his last podium in Montreal this year. I always considered him a great ambassador for the sport. There are a lot of great memories involving him: - getting rearended by Schumie in the rain - his engine blowing up in a big way on the grid at Silverstone with McLaren - all the times he wouldn't give way in a corner and somebody (including him) was off in the gravel He wasn't the most successful driver out there but he wasn't a wimp either. He'll be missed for his contributions.
Finally his last race.... I respect his career back in the early 90s but thats about it. He's become really annoying in the last 2 seasons with all his complaints etc.
I CANT BELIEVE THIS!!!!....and NO ONE COUNTED HOW MANY SUPERMODELS HAS HE BANGED!!!! "10.3 supermodels banged in 15 seasons in formula 1" heheheeee, sorry couldnt resist. ...He´s not Irvine and his Adult Enterteinment involvement but he´s got some pretty nice girlfriends...or grid girls...
Coulthard came on at the British GP after party, he was a laugh and one of the real genuine personalities in F1, just a shame he didnt have as much success as he deserved.
I liked the DC of 8 years ago, and I will give him his due: He has snagged some pretty righteous tail.
What a crappy career....highly paid F1 driver that can't tow his buckets of F1 money from the venue to the bank. Owns a hotel in in Monaco and has his pick of any woman in any crowd at any price. Must suck to be him. And he's retiring at what, 36? my heart bleeds. Coulthard has a **** career by F1 standards....sign me up. Twice.
I believe he got out of the hotel deal recently and know he is married and his wife Karen former French TV journalist is expecting. Always respected him for being very well spoken -he could teach Kimi "Mutekonen" a thing or two about that-, a gentleman even if he did not have the killer instinct of Hakkinen.
To be fair, I spoke to him briefly a few times when I was out partying (in Monaco) and he seemed pretty friendly. I didn't dare to bring up Formula 1.
By Jonathan Noble Thursday, October 30th 2008, 16:14 GMT David Coulthard is to run a special livery on his Red Bull Racing machine for his final grand prix in Brazil this weekend to help raise money for the Wings for Life charity. Coulthard wants to use his last appearance in an F1 race to raise awareness for the Red Bull-backed charity that helps research into spinal cord injuries. "I dedicate my last race to the vision of making paraplegia curable," said Coulthard, whose 246-race career will come to an end at Interlagos on Sunday. Although teams are supposedly banned from running cars with different liveries, Coulthard has welcomed the support of rival team bosses in approving his plan for the weekend. "When BAR tried to get permission to run two different car liveries they were told they could not do that," Coulthard said at Interlagos. "But I think what it does show, and it takes the agreement of all the other team principals - who were the ones banning it for BAR - it shows that when it is a genuine charitable cause then the team bosses do have a heart. "It is quite remarkable. I think also the fact that having been around for a long time, and there does seem to be reasonably warm wishes for me to finish my career and move on, it makes it easier for them as well. "So I am feeling all loved and cuddly at the moment, which I never felt for years!" http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/71828 http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/081030170145.shtml
Good riddance. Alhtough DC is generally a likeable guy off the track, he's way past his due date as recent clashes with passing cars have shown. I still remember when DC grabbed Massa by the throat after Felipe had shown him the finger on the track
I agree, and what race was that where felipe showed him the finger? i think i missed that... I still remember DC giving Schu the finger though. Magny course 2000 IIRC
Interesting how so many are cr@pping on DC's carer . Lets see: Better than Fisi by miles and so many fools on this site still rate him , Better than Webber (maybe not faster), Better than Trulli-useless and again so many rate him , Better than Button, Better than Irvine, Better than Barrichello (no I can't be right ... equalled), Better than MS's brother ... The only recent drivers with better F1 carers are (and they are all WDC's!): MS, Alonso, Hakenin, Kimi, JV, Hill, Massa and probably Lewis (more wins?). The guy was good!, but yes prone to brain fade ... er, I've heard LH has a bit of that problem too Pete
