Joe - you are obviously an expert, aficionado and lover of the downdraft Countach over the US injected car (if I'm wrong, please correct me). Yet, I've noticed that this specificity doesn't seem to extend into the anniversary car, where there is both downdraft and US injected versions. Is there something about the anniversary car that makes the two versions fairly equal in desirability, in your opinion? Can you offer some insight as to why that is. Or, please correct me if my observations are off base.

If I remember correctly someone posted that there are far fewer anny FI than DD.

It's the car that made me a car guy. It's the car that taught me to dream. It's a work of art aesthetically. I love it.

91 and 01 , i really liked both, the 01 was fantastic, drove it as a dayli driver for a year, Atlas orange, beautiful.but always wanted a Countach, the right car came along, and i bought it, newer looked back. But i will admit the 6,0 Diablo was a fantastic car, just not the childhood dream the Countach represents,

I thought the anniversary in this video is interesting. It's a right hand drive car with European lights, yet it's an injected version with the appropriate engine cover. Can someone shed some light on this?

Honestly I'm pretty surprised. Anyone can get into an e30 and wring its neck, it's a toy.

Driving a Countach requires something of you, namely assertiveness, you get what you put into it. Often times I think "handling" is confused with "friendliness".

These characteristics were dialed out with the Diablo. It's much more friendly to hustle. Personally the car is a riot! To each their own though, yours looks great.

Australian car perhaps. Not a fan of the small light on the rear quarter.

It could be you, it could be the specific car, or a combination thereof, depends.

Piloting a Countach takes some brawn and deliberate effort, and to get the best out of the experience, the car must also be working properly.

Really? Countach owners tell you this? If their Countach is miserable to drive and difficult to maintain, why continue to own it? And how do you love a car that's miserable to drive and difficult to maintain? Sorry, but all that makes no sense at all, and so I guess I'm just thankful that my experience has been the exact opposite of the aforementioned on all fronts in 30 years of Countach ownership covering every variant from LP400 to 25th Annivesario, to me, they are a joy to drive.

The problem is that sometimes, people have been exposed to just one single Countach, often times it is one that is not operating optimally, and with nothing else to compare it to, they think that's the way they all are! That's too bad, because they are missing out on the real Countach experience that's possible.

Okay, with the description you've supplied, I feel sure this car is not doing what it can or should.

To clarify, the variant difference between Fuelie & Downdraft is always specified whether QV or 25th, and the desirability between the two has been expounded upon in both this thread and the Downdraft thread many times, no need to go over it all again, that would be redundant. That said, there is no right way, most people simply pick what they want, what's available, or what they can afford.

    I found my m3E30 boring.
I could not wait to sell it.
true, there is way more drama and preparation with the Countach. So much emotion.

I agree the countach is a chore to drive..... BUT who really drives one as a normal car.... I know I would take it out just for a drive... being that it is a chore..it feels special..feels like how Italian sports cars should feel.... driving my F430 is more like a everyday car, other then the looks, sound and people pointing... countach is special....

If I were you, I'd have Valentino drive it next time he is in the States and have him prepare a work list. Then send it to the right shop to remedy.

Does anybody have any information on the black on white Anniversary Countach at Canepa? The VIN is ZA9CA05A4KLA12514. Any known issues with the car? Thanks very much.
