The FI and DD are vastly different in engine characteristics from the way they rev to the way they sound. Not to mention they prob have 60hp or more than an FI. That Carb anny is a great trade up for a FI Anny owner.

The color is Rosso Siviglia 215157, non-metallic red, see below.

Carbureted 25ths sound different from Fuelie 25ths, they have the unmistakable Downdraft carbureter induction whistle and a deeper throttle sound, and the former are significantly more powerful than the latter.

They also have a different engine cover and have no USA DOT side-markers.

FWIW the car was built for a Spanish-based VIP client

Good comparison of sounds here. I'd suggest driving a carb car first (and older variants as well) and then seeing if the experiences prompt you to make a change, taking price and condition into consideration.

Factory documentation and practically every publication produced for the past 30 years states your cars power to be officially rated at 420bhp, with the carb car at 455bhp, so there definitely is a difference. Not to say that there aren't specially prepared carb engines with 470bhp, like in the Martini QV for example.

joe is the hp difference between carb and FI stated here accurate for the anny? and if so does removing the cats on an FI get close to carb HP?

    No, that's not accurate.

For the same reason that the factory exaggerated the hp for the Miura SV by @ 60 bhp, the hp for the Fuelies were exaggerated by at least that amount.

The notion espoused by some for obvious reasons that if you delete the cats then the Fuelie will have the same hp as the Downdraft is patently false.

It really doesn't matter whether any Countach variant has 350 hp or 455 hp, they are all very cool cars, but the moment people start with the they are all basically the same nonsense, then it becomes important to make the distinction.

Always happy to share updated information as we learn with the passage of time, that's why nobody any longer subscribes to the erroneous notion that all Countach bodies are the same dimensions as they did once-upon-a-time, plus much other received wisdom besides.

As I said above, carbureted QVs sound different from Fuelies, they have the unmistakable Downdraft carburetor induction whistle and a deeper throttle sound, this does not mean they sound better, that's subjective, but they do sound unmistakably different.

Back on track, The Miura hp reference you are making, was back in a different time and before Chrysler corporate buy out, do you really think a corporation of Chrysler magnitude would in print ,and in their official specs for the US model, claim 420 hp,if this was in fact false? In the most lawyer infested sue happy country in the world? Co mon Joe, why is it you belive the carburators, yes carburators ,are this amzingly more efficient than the at the time fuel injection ?wich where used by pretty much every manufacture at the time, also time period 0-60 times reflects a difference of 0,2-3 sec to 60 mph, wich in the 2008-09 Porsche 911 S versus no S is very similar, and the hp difference is 35 hp. We all know ,incl members on this site with Us fi Anni cars (this is the Anni site) with euro unrestricted exhaust, will run with the carbed cars any day. If your claim ,the carbed car got 70 hp over the fi car, then the carbed car must be extremely un efficient. Move on.

This is my non anniversary ,factory instruction book, wich came with my car, also important to notice, this was the time wich manufactures where by law using KW in their power rating nmbrs, this was in mandated to establish one universal power rating . For consumers to understand, not hp din,sae and so on, at this point , goverments where cracking down on fake nmbrs, back in the Miura time, not so much, but in the late 80s,thing where very different.

You are never on track, meanwhile welcome back from your latest ban, is this number three or four? Surely you hold the site record not only for bans but the consistently rude nonsense that causes them, not to mention a reliably constant proliferation illiterate gibberish that has no intrinsic value here whatsoever. To come back on here immediately after a ban and spout off this nonsense also underscores that you are an unparalleled glutton for punishment.

The hp claims for the QV have zero to do with Chrysler, they were established before Chrysler by Nuova Automobili Lamborghini SpA, I realize you are utterly clueless about Lamborghini history and prefer to make stuff up as you go along, but again, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Also, as a private company Lamborghini could make whatever claims they wanted. The fact that 420 hp was written means absolutely nothing, the fact that it hasn't been tested till now speaks for itself and the results in recent times are pretty consistently clear.

How many times in the history of cars has horsepower been exaggerated? How about gas mileage, even in recent times? Get real. As Road & Track Editor TC Browne said: "There are lies, damned lies, and there there are car manufacturer's statistics". Where did that come from?

You keep saying that the horsepower is similar but you have done and collected absolutely no measured independent testing, zero, all your claims are hot air based on absolutely nothing.

If anyone needs to move on it's you, as in be moved on from this site, which isn't far off, I'm not going anywhere, and will be happy to debate this till kingdom come, which I suspect you already know.

Show us how governments were effectively cracking down on fake numbers in the 80s, bearing in mind it still goes on in recent times. Show us how they went to Lamborghini and independently measured those engines. Did the FIA independently bench-test Fuelie engines as they did with Downdrafts? You tell me. Your talk is always consistently cheap because it is always consistently backed up by nothing at all.

Let's let your friend from the fraternity of the banned explain the situation in his own words, perhaps that will help you understand: Image Unavailable, Please Login :

Thank you for the tip. Perhaps sometimes in the future,i will join the cool aid club, just not right now,i disagree, also happen to know a thing or two reg how mecanical thing actually works, no sweat, again thanks.

Yes, your factory book is wrong, deal with it, I can point out a dozen other errors & omissions in it besides, same with your parts book and maintenance manual, get real and stop worshipping at the altar of wishful thinking.

Nothing I claim is an assumption, unlike your assertions based on absolutely nothing, my conclusions on the power differences are based on an ongoing collation of actual recorded engine dyno tests, so far involving no less than 3 separate Fuelies and 3 separate Downdrafts, and the results are clear, call it where you like but theres about 60-80 hp difference with both variants using European headers and a sports exhaust.
