It is said 657 or 658 25ths were built. The received wisdom was that 187 of them were USA-spec fuel-injected cars, with fuel-injection used ostensibly because from 1986 onwards carbs were considered obsolete for the USA market by most manufacturers. But in fact there are more like 200 fuel-injected 25ths, considering Canada and the Middle East (some carb cars went there too). So in fact, he is correct, the fuel-injected 25th is the rarer version, by more than twice over, considering the fact that there are some 450 plus carb 25ths. Just a rough perspective on numbers. As seen below, Supercars of the same era from all other significant manufacturers were all fuel-injected. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Another 25th that is not on either registry is a very early 1988-build car, ordered by Vancouver Canucks team owner Francesco Aquilini http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francesco_Aquilini in Bianco Perlato with Nero sports seats. Just under 13,000 km (@ 8,000 miles) shows on the clock as of the past month. I was at LoV a few weeks ago and was told this is NOT Aquilini's car. Your pictures are of a one owner canadian car, delivered by Ferruccio himself in Europe (that's what I was told). The car above needs some work to get it to working order and the vin is 12480. I have seen the Aquilini car and it is in bad shape, damage on all corners.
You are right, 12480 is (formerly) a one-owner car, and does indeed need some work to make it nice. The car I have posted above is correctly identified as 12480. Perhaps there may have been something lost in the translation with the kind kolks at LoV whom I know well and deal with regularly, because as I posted, it is the ex-Aquliini 25th, meaning it is no longer his, so, yes, its not his car now. Perhaps saying it is not the Aquilini car was their way of leaving his name out or indicating it is no longer his. As regards Ferruccio's involvement, I can assure you that he had nothing at all to do with this car, by 1988 he was simply linked to Automobili Lamborghini SpA in name only. The EE plates signify that the first owner collected it at the the factory, or in Italy. Have you also seen a different 25th described as belonging to Aquilini? Curious to know.
Is there a production number for the amount that had sport seats? I seem to remember this being a "really rare" option, but I see quite a few pictures of the. Though to be fair most are non US cars, so it could be that was not a popular option over here.
I also have bought and sold cars from LoV. I specifically asked if this was the Aquilini car and they said NO. Maybe they where confused but I don't think so. A few years ago I was at LoV and saw a banged up 25th Countach (not 12480) and was told by them that was Aquilini's car. Maybe LoV was also confused then but I don't think so.
I agree with you, Asgard and his team know exactly what they are talking about...stand up bunch of guys.
Thanks. Car currently resides about an hour from me, and is for sale. 12000 miles on the clock, pearl white with tan interior. I think he is a little high on price.
Understood. Anyway 12480 as posted above in Bianco Perlato/Nero livery is very cool. According to the recent inspection report, it needs work, most of which looks like deferred maintenance. I'd lose the USA front bumper too.
The only USA car I have documented that was delivered with them is the ex-Joe Nastasi 12039. I am aware of at least one other USA car with them in, but am not sure they were supplied that way from the factory. Either way its a super-rare application for the USA. Not so rare for Europe, I have images of about a dozen cars with them in, so there must be much more than that. Still, quite rare as you say. Image Unavailable, Please Login
