Cool. This one? Better update that info! http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/Countach/CountachLP400S/1121116.html Tell Matt and Jay at Grand Prix Imports/Lambo Portland that Kie says hello. We go way back in the bike world~
Your story was so awesome I had to share it with the other officers in my department. They were all stoked.
CHHERS!! We are toasting you here in Texas. I brought this up in the doc's lounge here at the hospital . Outstanding.Congrats!
Its been here in the NW for 6 years now. I'll tell them you said hello. Good luck and have fun with your Countach. Greg
Congrats on the find!!!! The car is great , but I think the story behind the find is even better. Thank you for sharing.
You sound like a true enthusiast. Best of luck to you and this project. BTW, invlove your GF...chicks love cars too. For me, the only thing that would make this story any better would be to know the real price....then we all could go DAMN....it could have been me! I understand that if you ever go to sell the car and the purchase $ is know..blah...blah...blah...but....... Good luck!
Oh the GF is involved. She'd have it no other way. She and the pawn shop owner's wife/business partner hit it off real well and they exchanged favorite cookie recipes, loan amortization schedules, etc. Rumor has it there may be a run to Vegas for us in 1121252. As far as what I paid, well, would it be good enough for you to know that DAMN might not cover it? Seriously though, we are talking 5 figures here. Much, much closer to 4 than 6 if that is any help
kie...then let me be the first to say DAMN!!!!!! great job, and good luck to a great guy! enjoy it my friend!! please keep the pictures coming as she progresses. best, pcb

Just visiting from the 348/355 section I came across your very entertaining story how cool I live for these kind of stories good luck with your restoration I'm sure you will enjoy restoring it as much as driving it, good for you...
ditto me - great story, great adventure - GREATEST automobile on the planet! Emilio - YOUR CT is REALLY nice!!!! Wow!
it was meant with both respect and admiration, hence not 1 but 3 little smiley faces. i think its great that one of us gear heads bought an early carb car, as opposed to the self proclaimed expert car dealers guys. the well written story and the smile on your wife's face really are a great treat. please keep us posted with write ups of your time with the car, and lots of pics! michael i think i would just grab a chair and stare at the lines of the car for a few days, before i even washed or touched it.
Wow... Very cool! But, I have to wonder, what kind of idiot pawns a Lamborghini? Cool gal too... better grab her while you can! Shiny Side Up! Bill
it is funny guys while we were all looking for a project countach all around the farest countriest around globe... and it was sitting in Seattle from so much time LOL tks Mike had you not seen pics of it before ? i posted manytime ago will post more on the others than LP400 countach thread if you like
This story would make a great movie. Twisted plot, great detective work, seedy back alley characters, exotic cars, bike racing women. Best plot I've seen in a long time!
sorry, never appreciated just how nice it is.... today I am going to pawn shops all over Reno and Carson City looking for backroom exotics!!! everyone dreams of a story like this....some live it!!
Hey not a peap outta me I told you I would not give out that info I want that CAR. Even though Im looking at another one a 81 that needs a full resto
make sure it doesn't look like this when done...! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LAMBO-KIT-C...tem330216325453 ....sorry listing expired - another filthy replica that looked pretty bad..lol!
Thanks everyone for all the positive replies. Feel free to email me your offer for the book/movie rights lol! So many courses of action I am considering. After playing with the interior it is way, way better than I first thought. The body is dinged here and there but nothing horrible and no signs or previous accidents/repairs. Some of the slats over the engine are missing the rivets. I certainly need new weatherstripping around the door openings. All the glass is great and undamaged as are the rear lights. The front wheels need refinishing and the rears were polished at some point. The wing has nasty paint bubbling and I was told it had been redone already several times. George Evans warned me about this, evidently a serious problem this is. I'll probably leave it off anyway but in the meantime I'd try to repair the one I have if it can be done. Am I crazy to be considering serious engine mods? TWM throttle bodies (the ones that replace the DCOE carbs), crankfire ignition, coil on plug, head work, cams, hi-comp slugs, etc? For sure I am going through the engine just for the heck of it, why not go all the way with the option of putting the stock ancillaries back on?
