Will definitely be there!
I’m looking for 1 standard ticket to the Quail. Please contact me if you have one available to purchase. My cell is 202-809-4032. Thank you.
Let me address this one: @lambojim your yellow Anniversary is KLA12978 which left the factory on 28th March 1990. The last RHD Anniversary by chassis number is LLA12070, which left the factory on 11th July 1990. Then the last Anniversary of all by chassis number is LLA12085, the silver Anniversary owned by the factory. So you the chassis numbers run from KLA12978 up to (say) KLA12999 then start again at (say) LLA12001 and run up to LLA12070 and up to LLA12085. So… your car 12978 is in fact earlier than 12085, because KLA12978 is before LLA12085. Happy to be corrected - surely KLA12085 in the posts above should be LLA12085? >>> I’ve had some advice on this one. What I say here is correct in principle, except the cars LLA12001 to LLA12085 seem to be KLA12001 to KLA12085 and LLAxxxxx chassis numbers were only used in Canada. It’s never straightforward!
I booked the accommodation earlier this year not knowing the exact dates, but I figured it wasn't going to be horrible having to stay here for 10 days. Is there a recommended trick for refueling in CA? I had to hold the gas valve just above the nozzle open to get any flow because the nozzle will not fit in fully - I presume that's just an annoyance I will have to suffer in CA?
It's a nice part of the world to be in, enjoy the calm before the storm and make sure to do the Peble Beach 17 Mile Drive before all the tourists arrive. Yes, that's the trick for refueling although you can finesse the unit inwards and get the fuel tank aperture to hold the valve open, a minor annoyance.
It's going to be a fun week, lots of Countach owners in attendance and already here in Half Moon Bay! Image Unavailable, Please Login
What an amazing display of Countaches. The early factory LP400 was a very special treat - all the unique details really made it a stand out. Three special Periscopos - two of which were Viola Metallizato! The Verde Metallizato S3 and of course Joe and Jeff’s downdrafts. John was also representing a very original Nero / Nero car. Surprisingly no low bodies, at least that I recall - perhaps I missed one. Really a great showing, congrats to all that made it happen and participated.

A good day for us as Joe Sackey Classics has sourced & sold the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in the past! Our former Giallo LP400 1120192 should have been an easy winner but I got the impression the Judges were marginally experienced with Countachs and in any case someone told us they were going for the Skittles effect. Alex, I'm confident the the judging was based on limited Countach-specific experience, all the 1-2-3 winning cars had numerous flaws, and in this case the wing was probably the very reason the Verde Metallizzato took 1st! Still it was a great day for all for many different reasons.
I was honored to be parked next to 001, I spent a lot of time looking at that car, an automotive treasure, priceless!
Hi all, does anybody know the VIN of that Nero / Nero 5000 S that was on the Concours? Ex wearecurated I believe. And is that the same car that was for sale in 2020 by Kinetic, Miami. Then with rear wing, or another car? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Over the years, I've grown accustom to all those flaws as part of what makes a Countach a Countach. If you don't have wing bubbles, cracked paint on the top air vents, and small gear oil leak then you're probably driving a kit car.
I have the VINs of every Countach running around that week.. does the VIN determine the year, or does delivery date? As far as I know the VIN and the Title is what matters.
I was speaking of the fully restored cars that have flaws as in incorrect details or components finished in a way that is not faithful to the car's original disposition.
Not sure if the light makes the color or just the setting. This car is absolutely stunning. Its history and presence.
