As noted earlier in the thread, we handled this at the bodywork stage with the appropriate L-shaped reinforcements. The typical cracks you see are actually caused by flex.
Ciao Emilio, when are you coming to the USA? Your fellow countryman Maestro Valentino is here all the time, so you have no excuse
Interior of Downdraft seen at Monterey. Perhaps you'd rather not see the exterior which unfortunately had been modified with the usual USA DOT appendages. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Famed LCF 88.5 Downdraft. Valentino tells me these engines will run forever if correctly maintained, and judging by the mileage of some of these cars, he is right. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful Joe! Couldn't have done it better myself. The stickers say PPG and Agip, what paint and oil do you use? Once again: In every detail a most beautiful QV! L-E
The paint is PPG and the oil is Agip! Thank you for your kind words, it has emerged quite a bit better than I'd originally hoped for, we are very grateful.
Funny you say this, because elegant is exactly the word Patrick Mimran used to describe his color preferences, and his cars reflect this. For example, his 1957 Ferrari 250 GT Boano 0547 was a version of Bordeaux. Image Unavailable, Please Login

A Tale of Two incredibly original and beautifully-preserved cars, Downdraft FLA12831 and Lancia Stratos 0207, these iconic stablemates both facilitated by Joe Sackey Classics LLC for a passionate gentleman enthusiast, I'm honored to be able to say. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This XJ220 has also a very nice shade of Bordeaux: 20 Minuten - Für Jahre der schnellste Supersportwagen der Welt - Youngtimer
Yes indeed, not to go too far off-topic but, speaking of Bordeaux Supercars, this reminds me of the fabled McLaren F1GT (58F1GT) that was built in a version of Bordeaux metallic for its Japanese owner. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The dimension specifications in the factory Homologation illustration below are not very detailed. We are fine-tuning the suspension and ride-height of GLA12997, and it will be helpful if anyone with a standard unmodified Downdraft can measure the exact ground-clearance rear of the front wheels and fore of the rear wheels, using the point where the spats meet the riveted sill as the front & rear measuring points from the ground. My QV fulie, non skirted, oct 87 prod date, is unmolested/7k mile car, if same set up as dd,this might be helpful. Dim taken where flat black riveted lipp meets curved body panel below door, front of rear wheel back of front wheel, both side of car(4 points) all consistent with 128mm , car has been sitting for 2 months, in exact same position
Very helpful, I think its the same set-up, thank you! Is the 128 mm from the ground to the bottom of the sill, or to the point the sill meets the curved body-panel? I think latter, just checking.
A Downdraft club member wanted to know if the hood latch units were painted over, and the answer is yes, here you have just a glimpse of this on an original car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Slightly off-topic, but the Countach is still considered a Supercar benchmark! Image Unavailable, Please Login

In related news, I hear Horacio Pagani himself purchased a Downdraft, although its a 25th Anniversario, Bianco Perlato/Rosso, Turin-registered.
