I don't have them anymore, otherwise you would have gotten them with the car, but can ask my mechanic, perhaps they are somewhere around in his Garage, but don't think so.
No worries, we have a plan. These snake-eyed security bolts are dome-head units and I think they can be found if you know where to look. Failing that we will have to manufacture. Talk about a last nut-and-bolt restoration! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those bolts are specially difficult to find for any car in that era and almost all European cars got them.
These security screws with two hole drive are in fact quite common. They are called either cheese-head screws, pan-head screws or even pig-nose screws... They are available at the factory through your Lambo dealer. Either in Black for the Countach : #008700634 or in Chrome for the Miura application : #008700616 (for the Miura, the size is M6x1x22 (6mm standard metric thread, length 22mm) You can also find very similar screws (slight head shape differences possible) at your fastening parts shop. That young Harry, woukd be top news. Please let me know asap please. As I'm now sending out menu choices and looking to finalise the event details / schedule. Joe, hoping numbers will be at least similar to the first event. Won't lie. its been a struggle to get the numbers up for this years event. Just heard today that one of the chaps attending, has a serious issue on his car. So touch n go if he can get it resolved in time. I think the problem nowadays is that there are just so many car events within the year. A lot of owners attend F1, Goodwood etc. its hard to find a free date that suits all. But the event will run. That is a given! Cheers Rob
This Downdraft is the poster car for those who still ascribe to the old stereotype that nobody ever drives these... I really want to know the mileage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Either way, a great job doing this, I bet it will pick up over the years! Can't wait to see the pics.
I'd like to personally congratulate German industrialist Wilhelm Hinghaus who purchased his 1987 Downdraft new to special-order (Bianco with Arancio leather) 29 years ago, picked it up @ Santa Agata on Escursionisti Esteri (EE.490.AK) plates, and still owns it. He's covered around 70,000 kilometers since then, all his own miles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
