Paul, you and Mark the other year, are troopers sir. Yes, a very long way to travel, but great to have you at the events. besides, we needed a white car for the pictures ! Think future event will be going towards Saturday into Sunday event for the next one. To make sure that we can party hard(er) and there is a suitable break over night. Keep well my friend. R
Thanks for the kind words, Joe. Very lucky to be in a position where I can share my passion for Countach (as well as other interesting cars) via various outlets in today's increasingly digital world. What strikes me about the Countach in particular is everyone knows the car when they see it but very few have any knowledge of the different variants produced by Lamborghini over the years and what they're like to drive. On another note, where do you get all your images from?! You occasionally post ones of my car I've never seen before, which I find impressive.. Look forward to hearing about your car, once it hits the road..
May as well put a couple of pics of my Countach up. Apparently it is the only original white RHD 88.5 not sure how true that is. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Harry, the pleasure is mine. I have noticed these days how many random people who you encounter who know so much about individual Countachs, this is the power of the internet, it allows the younger generation to follow these cars and be enthusiastic about them, which bodes well for their collective futures. I guess using & sharing them is a duty we have, and you do it very well. I have a system that alerts me of certain types of images, and, I'm a member on Flicker which is essentially a photographer's storage site which hosts some incredible images. Here are some great ones of your car on the Italy trip as taken for EVO, I belive thats Jethro B driving in the first image? Anthony, Awesome images of your Downdraft which is UK-registered F 808 KEC. Thank you for sharing. I saw ZA9C005A0JLA12369 in the spring of 1989, when it was fairly new and met the original owner who waxed lyrical about driving it back from the factory on EE plates and achieving terminal velocity! It was first registered on December the 30th 1988 I believe. Its not the only white RHD 88.5 (@ 4-5 others were delivered around the time 3 of which are known to me personally, the one below belonged to a good friend) but I can tell you yours has a custom red-and-black interior special-ordered by that first owner that no other RHD 88.5 has. Its great to see this car looking so well after so many years. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anthony! For goodness sake I'll DM you my contact details. Lets get you and your lovely car along to the next Countach lunch meeting. Presume you've seen all the press / pictures and video of the recent event. Would be great to have your lovely example along! Cheers Rob
Here is Anthony's lovely JLA12369 again, this from a few years ago. Rob, I reckon there are over 50 Countach in the UK alone... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I stopped by today to hear it run for the first time myself. Nothing can prepare you for the sound when all 12 bark into life at the sane time. The old Cliché that you have to hear it to believe it applies. Standing right behind the car when it was fired up, I felt the deep booming sound resonates from floor to ceiling. Basso Supremo! Sorry I didn't get more video, but no belching or spitting this time, it runs rich & smooth. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

The rear badges are final and I'm very happy. I can't tell you how many things we've done twice, or more, its right when its right. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The front compartment Alpine regulator tray with its distinctive 3 yellow cad-plated bolts as seen in the famed Road & Track magazine image of the car coming down the Sant Agata assembly line is finally in place! See how depending on the lighting, the color changes from brown-gold to burgundy and vice versa. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe next week we'll do some driving after the interior final pieces go in. Or the week after that. We'll see. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The list is getting quite short. Although the restoration has been an interesting process, it'll be fun to complete it and get some professional images of the car so the details can be properly shared. And of course, share the car itself! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yup, another day taking people out for rides, in my quiet, subtle understated Italian..... btw, found an earlier rollingroad printout, when she was on carbs, dont think she was very well... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found this EVO piece within which Valentino confirms what I was mentioning http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144960485-post4273.html about gaskets under the air-box lid to gain hp. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking for another original shift-knob for a valuable client, any leads appreciated, value paid. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ran an LM002 on carbs without the airbox. What a messacre that was! You always had goose bumps when the RPM were climbing. It was faster too, but no specific data to compare. Also I've ran thicker gaskets in between the air-box and intake manifolds. (LM002 got an aluminum air-box and carbs were mounted inside) The idea was to get cooler air by spreading them from the cam covers and add accesibility to the vacuum ports. Anyway, it could easily get 200 km/h. Never topped it out. And I've seen a pic from another LM002 owner (being FI) of him driving 217 km/h. LM is so comfortable at that speed, you can get a steady shot! So yeah, LM FI is quite fast too. Sorry for some LM-stories...
Excuse the poor-quality cellphone image, but, interior trim is going in as we speak! I think we are past the point of no return... Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hmm, and I wonder who wrote that story... 😉 Got Valentino to sign a copy of that Fast Lane article during the interview too.
